Founded February 11, 2026, in Elizabeth City , Beta Phi Chi Sorority Inc. was established by Sheila Monay Davis, Deiani Mariel Washington, Haley Kate Marie Cossett, and Mikayla Jiselle Moore.

Beta Phi Chi was born from a deep conviction that sisterhood should be inherent rather than earned. Beta Phi Chi essentially emerged in response to a culture where belonging is too often conditional and exclusive in nature. The founders envisioned an organization where connection is not a prize, but a shared foundation, and where women are empowered to cultivate excellence within themselves and each other.

Beta Phi Chi stands apart through its intentional internal structure, its active partnership with local and family-owned businesses, and its deep care for the communities it serves. Rooted in both accountability and compassion, the sorority was created to cultivate a culture that reflects its values in action, generating meaningful impact on individual, social, and professional levels.

Publicly, Beta Phi Chi represents the principle that one woman’s best can inspire the best in another. Beta Phi Chi exists to advance belonging, betterment, and brilliance through sisterhood, leadership, and intentional service.

The sorority supports women in building enduring bonds, developing leadership capacity, engaging their communities, and advocating for social justice. Beta Phi Chi women are recognized as leaders among their peers: warm, empathetic, principled, and purpose-driven.
